Shy Introvert
Oh yes, life is a journey NOT a destination and mine looked like a confused map.
Every day we have a choice…eat well vs eat junk: exercise vs watch Netflix: read personal development vs reading fiction. What we choose feeds us either in a positive way or negatively.
When I was young I had planned to marry a farmer and live up here in the north with my dogs and my farm critters.
With my parents encouragement, I went to nursing school and was planning to come back to work in our community hospital. Things started to change at that point and my straight line began to swerve.
I swerved a lot over the years: kids, miscarriages, 2 marriages, several homes, two states, many dogs, a few horses, and no farm (yet). The one thing that has stayed straight and true was my nursing- I never wavered and was totally committed.
Today, I’m totally committed to my health. God has seen fit to keep me healthy through all my bad food, long nights on call with no sleep and stressful moments of births, deaths, & divorce. Now I’m back to my straight line of daily exercise, good nutrition and mindful reading. I thank God he looked out for me all those years and I want to take care of this body he gave me.
This morning I got up, pushed play, joined my online friends and worked out. Next I’m going to be sitting down to read for 30 minutes and its not something negative. It’s what I must do to take care of me. It takes an hour out of my day (30 for exercise & 30 to read) and it improves me so I can be the best me for my husband, kids and grand kids.
💜 Its Friday and I’ve had a few days of falling off the wagon. So much is going on in my life that I don’t share.
I’m an introvert and shy. I don’t like to talk too much about my life. My 93 year old mother used to say “don’t air your dirty laundry”.💜 So, I tend to be quiet. It’s hard to change when you’ve had something ingrained in you. I find other not so healthy ways of coping with stress like…eating. Yes- even one year later I still struggle especially when there is stress around me.
Exercising has always helped but even that has been interrupted by life lately. Can you relate? 💜 Today, I’m seeing indications of one of the stressful items getting resolved. That will help. I’ve thrown out the mindless foods that I chew on when I’m worried. When I open my fridge there’s containers with prepared snacks, lunch & dinner in there. The trick is you don’t beat yourself up- you just pick yourself up and hit “restart” 💜 I had a conversation with someone I love dearly today. We talked about nutrition and how we are coming off a bad month. I said “I’ve gained 2 lbs” and they responded 😂”I’ve gained 10!”💜 Perspective…
My crisis seems small to someone else. Theirs might seem unbearable to another. The main thing is we only get one life and I want mine to be the best I can make it. So I share with you because it helps me.
I’m a shy introvert who is turning 65 in a little over 3 months. I’m going to keep adjusting my eating habits until they’re the best possible and if I fall off, I’ll get back on. Pressing play everyday and doing the best I can even if it’s only 1 rep or I have to modify. 💜 Where are you in your perspective? Are you happy with your health & nutrition? Do you want something different but are afraid to say it? I had poor self talk for so many years. Do you do that? I could not look in the mirror without finding fault. I still have to put my inner voice in check. 💜
And now I’ve told you more than I thought I could…Change happens on the inside as well as outside. I may have gained 2 pounds this month but I’ve realized many things about me that I can change. This month was about changing inside more than outside. What will July bring?
💜 Abs and arms- I consider them the ones that need the most work.
💜 Tomorrow I will commit to doing 100 workouts-all different and meant to create change in everyone’s bodies. The actual program will start 7/29 but I want to get it right away and see the first 10 released so I can practice!
💜The cost will affect my budget but in the long run, it will improve my health even more. I spend this $ at the doctor for a balance after my insurance payment (and that’s a joke) 🤣
I used to spend it in 3 weeks for daily Vente Starbucks fancy coffees. Now do you see its value??
💜 It’s perspective…For what I spend now, I get it back in better health, less lab work and maybe less prescriptions as I grow older. I no longer buy every new diet or pill that comes out. Spend it once and get the value for a whole year before you renew! And I get a coach, an accountability group and a guide to continue my better nutrition!
💜 The way I look at it- its pay now or maybe pay later. I can’t wait to try this and see what I can do!!
💜 Today I completed Day 2 of #MM100. It was called Upbeat Strength and worked my shoulders, back, & arms. I get to preview the first 10 days before it actually starts on the 29th! 😍💜Committing to 100 workouts seemed intimidating at first and then I looked at the log of workouts I’ve done sinceJune 10, 2018: 675 😮🤪😍 It adds up fast!💜 When I saw that I knew I could do this! And they’ve all different and fun! With the modifiers I can do them all!
🤗 I am so excited that I decided to commit💜 I’ve always been a person who would start off energized on the next new diet or fad but quickly became bored or disappointed in it. The program I’ve been doing now for over a year has proven to be exactly as it was promoted to me. “Do the work and you’ll get results”. “Don’t be disappointed in the results you don’t get by the work you didn’t do”💜 So I’ve worked for a year and when I hit my 1 year mark, I slacked off for some reason. June was my “slacker” month.
I said the words but didn’t do the work. My cohorts were all working and I was feeling frustrated by their happy faces and success. It’s easy to fall back in that rut even after a year.💜 The along came #MM100 just in time to jog me back into my motivated state. My team of ladies are all on board to do the work and achieve results this month. How can I not get back into the groove of daily 30 minute workouts and great nutrition (especially with summer garden food!)💜
So I’m asking you…are you in a rut and feeling sorry for yourself for going into another summer looking the same? Are you still wearing cover-ups at the beach because you’re disappointed in the results you haven’t gotten? Can you join me for a month (or more ) to work on getting your results.? You have a money back guarantee here! It’s you that has to make that decision but I can help you stay in the groove if you tell me.👍👂 Come on- don’t wait! It’s at a reduced price which helps!
💜Its the end of a long holiday weekend. I didn’t workout consistently and I definitely didn’t prepare well for eating with others. All in all though it was a great weekend and I had some wonderful times with family & friends.
💜I’m back on track today and caught up with my exercises. I’ve prepared my meals and snack for the day and I’m looking forward to yard work and sunshine.
💜After retiring, I felt like I was on a vacation for about 2 years. Then I realized that I was spending more than I was making and I had to make a hard decision on what to do. Going back to work was not an option so…I looked at what I was doing at home. I was working out daily doing a health & nutrition program that was time -tested by many but also by me. I felt compelled to share my success with others in hopes of helping them to gain improved health-whatever that meant to them.
💜So in January of this year, I set out on a journey to share with others. I’m unique because I’m not between 30 & 50 and I’m not a mom of young children. What I am is an almost 65 year old who spent most of my life dabbling in exercise and trying to eat well even though I had learned it all in school when I became a nurse.
💜I woke up and knew I needed to share with others and so I set out to learn how to do it. I’m not a tech so that’s been a challenge. I’m not skilled in video but I’m trying hard to get it right. I’m shy & introverted but I can’t share if I don’t get over that.
💜 This program/business has made me healthier. It has allowed me to get the little things we never could have gotten if I continued the way I was. And thanks to this business, I’m going to be able to buy another piece of technology to help me shoot sharper video & pictures.
💜 And, most importantly, I’m able to be with family and enjoy them which I never could do when I worked 60 hour weeks.
💜 If you would like to know more about the business or if you would like to join out new group with the #MM100 workout, let me know. 👂 I’m waiting to hear from you and remember, there is a money back guarantee!
💜 I’m so excited that I made the leap & purchased early access into this program that I’ve been sharing these last few days! 💯% #MM100It’s challenging but will fit all fitness levels! It’s energizing and it makes me excited! A different workout everyday! And a DJ! 💜So I don’t have to pick out the music!
💜 Now is the time-if you’ve been thinking that you’d like to do something fun and different! It costs less than a gym membership and gives back so much! You get community and better health! All you have to do is invest in you! And..it comes with a guarantee!
💜 A year ago I heard my future coach say something similar. I was skeptical. I had failed so many times. I was the poster child for diet & nutrition failures. In my head, I was dieting to “get into the dress” or to get a “beach ready body”. Then when I achieved my goal (and I usually did) I went back to my old habits and gained all my weight back & more!
💜 I took a leap of faith because she said “it has a money back guarantee”. None of my other methods I tried did. Wow! I gave it my all and never looked back at that guarantee. This time I looked at it as a journey with no ending. I looked at my eating habits and set out to improve them a little at a time and make the change permanent. And I leaned in to my community of online fitness people who inspired and encouraged me. I lost the weight and gained the muscle I never had. I’ve never looked back & regretted the decision.
💜 Watch my stories as I post my results and results of my friends. Or…take a leap of faith and message me😀
I just finished Day 9 of #MM100. Loved it!
It had many familiar moves with weights but more reps and in adifferent sequence. My body was confused as it should be. Change makes things happen.
I had someone message me last night. She said:
thank you for putting yourself out there and motivating me. I have been working hard and so far I am at a 10.5 min mile on the treadmill and today I did 7 miles on the bike in 30 min…slowly but surely I will get there
That made me smile. My passion is to share my health & wellness discovery. Whether that makes my social media friends and my family decide to work with me or do something that excites them, its getting them moving and that’s what’s important. My road was long and convoluted before I found this program that I can do for life. My prayer is that friends and family find theirs so that we all can be healthier and live longer
So my message today is “get up and move!” You have one life with no “do-over” so make it count. Do the best you can with what you have. If walking is all you can do then walk. Just do it and try to do more everyday! If you want to work with me, I’m ready when you are.
One of my friends posted a motivation this morning: ” shine every chance you get-they hate that”
As a retired woman, that’s my goal today…just to shine. When I was young I worried about what people thiught of me. I worried about what I wore, what I said , how my hair looked…I was a hot mess about it.
Now, I’m looking at it differently and I feel better. My worries are still there but they’re different ones. I wear what I want and I enjoy the things I like. I’m not trying to be what I think others want and I have a feeling of ease.
I love my workouts and how I feel after them. I post in hopes that someone will benefit from my stories. I have found a gift that I want others to know about. It’s helped me to become a better me inside and out.
My workout is done and I’m ready to face the day!
I had a rest day with my family and wore a bathing suit for the first time in years! I was always in a cover-up or shorts when I was at the pool or ocean. Since I started working out I’m feeling more confident in my skin.
Oh my goodness what a morning I’ve had! My workout was fast & furious and now I have to clean up my space.
I have been struggling a bit lately about turning 65 in October. I’m noticing that overnight I feel more “creaky” and ache more than before. I had attributed it to working out but now I’m thinking its just part of the aging process.
I don’t know if others feel or have felt that way. I can only relate to what my mother says-“it’s hell getting old”. She’s 93 and I guess she can say that with conviction. I’m not there yet.
My mom was always an active woman. She had a hobby farm as long as I can remember. Horses, goats, chickens, geese and assorted kittens & dogs were always around us when I was growing up. I think her physical activity is what helped her to live so long as well as her good basic nutrition. We never had processed food in my house. It was grown or raised and she cooked everything from scratch.
Once I started school and working, I didn’t have the chores I grew up with and didn’t get the exercise I should have. Fast forward to today and countless years of processed food and I have the body I have.
So if you think I’m a nut for working out everyday, you might be right. I don’t know. I do know that I want to be as healthy as possible if I’m going to be in my 90’s so I’m eating as healthy as I can and exercising like a fiend. That’s a good thing not a bad one.
A non-scale victory for last week was I was able to get my mother up our wheelchair ramp and into our house without my husband’s help. My mom was amazed at my strength (and truthfully so was I). So I guess my aches and pains are not only part of aging but also part of my exercising! I’m going to keep pushing play!
💜The moment you feel like you’re failing , you’re winning! I was told today that I should pick the weight that is going to make me the strongest.
💜So here I am – I increased my weights and I’m working to get that greater range of motion.
💜 In my morning reading, there was a section on the power of listening. It said listen with your whole body. I took that to heart today and did just that. I reached out hard to meet myself at my maximum effort. It felt great! 💪
💜I’m finishing here and then getting the house ready for our smallest grandchild who is coming this evening for the weekend. I feel so blessed to be able to enjoy watching him grow. Today is his mommy & daddy’s wedding anniversary of 5 years. He is a lucky little guy to have such devoted & loving parents.
💜I’m thankful that I have the energy and health to play with him. Not everyone has this opportunity. We have only one life and I’m working hard to make mine my best!
💜It’s the weekend and I have some healthy eating options planned while our family is together. And of course I won’t miss my workouts! Some addictions can be healthy!😂 Fail forward everyone! If you don’t try something you’ll never know if you can do it. And remember- no one starts out looking great. But if you don’t start you can’t get there!
All my life I’ve been incredibly shy and introverted. I know as you read this, you’re probably chuckling but it’s true. When I had to do public speaking in school I would panic. My stomach would flip like I was on a roller coaster and my palms would sweat. I used all the advice people gave me on how to get through these moments, but it still hasn’t cured my phobia.
Fast forward to today. I joined my exercise group after months of worrying. I had visions failure and was physically ill when I was asked to take pictures to share with the group. On top of the shyness, I was also not very coordinated (everyone has told me this all my life) and I didn’t think I could do the exercises. I knew I had always had trouble learning dance moves so it seemed logical to me that I wouldn’t be able to do these either. So, I kept avoiding be active with the group and had decided I would just pick something to do occasionally. That would justify my purchase (that’s what I told myself)
Well my coach would have none of that and she kept after me. She told me:
• There are
modifiers
• You can lower the weights
• You can start without equipment
• You can go at your own pace
• You can, AND should, take it one day at a
time!
So, I did try, and I did listen to what she said and here I am today. I’m still a dinosaur with technology but I’m determined to not be shy and to share my journey. I’m certain I’m not the only one who has had these thoughts and feelings.
If I can encourage at least one person to get up and try, I’ve accomplished something. As a nurse I always wanted to help others and being retired has not changed that. I may still be shy, but I want to tell you “get up and move your body”, It’s important for your health. If you want more info-drop a? below.
My motivational quote came up today and it said: “Your desire to improve has to be stronger than your desire to quit”
Well that hit home. First, I have to say-I didn’t feel like working out today. My husband had a doctor appointment which was an hour drive away and I would barely finish and must leave. But…my desire to be better today than yesterday pushed me upstairs and I got started.
When I finished, I felt good about the fact that I didn’t “opt-out” like I used to.
Tomorrow will be a chance to shine brighter. I’m eating according to plan and getting plenty of water!
I can’t believe we are in the last month and a half before the New Year! I’m so excited about what it will bring! There are some new workouts being prepared that I will have a chance to review and participate in if I choose. Or I can go back to an old favorite once I finish these 80 days. (72 to go)
You see I’m not on a diet or a plan that “ends”. I’m on a journey to become healthier and stronger every day. I’m starting another group in December to help those who want to undo the Thanksgiving indulgence and face the Christmas holiday better prepared. If you decide that’s you-let me know. I’d love to help you achieve your goals. I have friends who have lost 60 or more pounds and went through the holidays doing it. It can be done if you have tools and a support group!
